The Marazon Professional Development System
(PDS) is a simple yet comprehensive portfolio system that
enables employees to manage their own professional development
while on the job. The PDS gives employees a systematic approach
to recording, interpreting, summarizing, and reporting personal
and career planning and assessment data.
The
PDS helps employees organize personal planning and assessment
data under the heading of Personal Development.
Personal Development is supported across six domains of human
development. These domains include Affective, Social, Creative,
Cognitive, Language, and Physical development.
Career planning and assessment data is organized
under the heading of Career Development. Career
development is supported across an employees Marazon
practice and job-related activities. Together, the areas of
Personal and Career Development comprise the employees Professional
Development.
The self-directing nature of the PDS enables
employees to take control of their own personal and career
development. The System helps them recognize their successes
in meeting their everyday job responsibilities. It helps them
accept and celebrate the gifts they bring to their job. Finally,
the Marazon PDS provides employees with documentation of their
on-going personal and career development.
Administratively, the PDS enables employers to easily authenticate
their employees professional development activities
through meaningful employee conferences. Administrators are
able to support and challenge employees to continually strive
reach their full potential in terms of their career and their
personal development.
