and staff implement developmentally appropriate practice
with confidence and conviction?

the use of curriculum matter, subject activities,

focused on supporting and challenging children's development
as opposed to "fixing what's wrong with children?"

assessment? That is to say, do you gather information
about what children say and do, interpret the meaning of this
information, and then use the information to plan individually
for children from week to week?
6. Do you have formal
and/or informal communication with families during
which you discuss their children's giftedness?
7. Do you have formal
and/or informal communication with families that
invites families to tell you about their children's interests
and needs so that you can support their interests and needs
in future lesson plans?
8. Do you know how to meet NAEYC's
accreditation
criteria related to "authentic
assessment and individualized planning?"
9. Do you have concrete
evidence for meeting licensing and accreditation
standards?
10. Do you have a systematic
means for gathering and storing evidence to meet
licensing and accreditation standards so that your program
is always ready for unannounced inspection visits?
