Intentional Catholic Parenting: Affective Development Birth through Adulthood
Parents are in the unique position to make a difference in their children's life by modeling, supporting, and challenging their affective development. We must never assume children will automatically develop their personal identity, positive expressions of emotions, self concept, or moral traits without the support of their parents. It is up to us to plan activities and provide materials in our homes that focus on children's affective characteristics to ensure that they reach their fullest potential in their development as whole persons.
This books helps parents understand and support children's affective development. Woven throughout the book are connections to Christ's own affective development, as well as references to scripture, the sacraments, and Catholic tradition.
